J.B. Fox Appalachian Folk & Horror Colle Hall's Gap: A Small-Town Appalachian Horror Thriller, (Paperback)

Nothing leaves the mountain whole. Not even the dead.

On a pitch-black, rain-slicked mountain road in 1996, Del Sallee and his brother Arlis were paid to transport a dead man down the switchbacks of Halls Gap. But halfway down the mountain, Ransom Hale sat up in the back seat, smiled in the rearview mirror, and offered them a choice.

Minutes later, the car vanished into thin air.

Thirty years later, Del walks out of the overgrown timber and onto a paved highway. He hasn't aged a single day. He still wears the mud of 1996 on his boots, and he carries no memory of the three decades that slipped away. But as his now-grown daughter tries to uncover the truth and his grieving widow confronts a memory made flesh, a sinister figure waits at the edge of the shadows. Ransom Hale's deal wasn't finished-and the hill is ready to collect the rest of its payment.
