God hasn't taken a customer service call since 1326. The hold time is seven hundred years. And the memo left on the desk reads: DO NOT WAKE ME.
For 117 years, Samuel Bell has worked Window Forty-One in Purgatory's infinite call center, handing out standardized comfort to newly departed souls. He knows every form, every protocol, and the cardinal rule of the desk: never break character, and never admit that the universe is running on autopilot.
Then investigative journalist Brittany Cross arrives at Intake straight from a fatal fall down a stairwell. Treating her own death as her final assignment, she refuses to take a ticket and sit down. Instead, she follows the paper trail straight into the vault of divine records-and uncovers the silence at the top.
With billions of souls backed up in administrative purgatory and the system beginning to fracture, Samuel and Brittany must navigate the endless grey corridors of divine middle management to find out who-or what-is actually running creation.
God's Customer Service Department is a darkly sharp, razor-witted speculative thriller about institutional inertia, cosmic bureaucracy, and what happens when the caller on line one realizes no one is listening.
