Comes with a filter and my cats use this as a main bowl. I have 8 and they tend to tip the bowls this keeps them from doing that it is threaded like a bottle and locks in the dispenser which was a good idea for my situation.

Better design but where are replacement filters?

So the watered is a different design but is way better for cats as the old one had a smaller opening and their whiskers could hit, this was an issue for my kitty, she drinks out of this one no problem! And the fact that you can pull the handle to keep water from flowing until you have it locked in place is very nice. But the issue I am having is that I can't find replacement filters here. If you're going to sell the,unit you should have replacement filters! I guess I'll have to look at Amazon…….
