Bait Shop Confidential, (Paperback)

The county is dry. The lake is rising. Everyone in this book is lying to someone they love.

Joanne Peel's father left her a dying bait shop and a bank note she can't pay. She left him a county with no liquor license and four hundred dead minnows in the tank.

So she starts a "fishing club." Twenty dollars, cash, for life. The coffee is free. The coffee is bourbon.

By Christmas, the whole county knows. By February, so does the state.

And her own son is filming every second of it - because the only way out of Crab Orchard is to prove, on camera, exactly what his mother became to save them both.

The water was supposed to take until summer to rise. It didn't wait.
