Saint Patrick was the missionary bishop who carried the Gospel to Ireland. How does a fifth century captive who spent his life writing in rough Latin remain a companion for anyone who feels unworthy of a divine calling?
The final volume opens with an old man taking up his pen to write the Confessio, leaving a theological record of unmerited grace that survives as his voice. From this personal defense, a civilization of saints and scholars arose, carrying his missionary zeal across Europe. The narrative traces how early monks like Muirchu and Tirechain preserved his memory, and how a scribe named Ferdomnach gathered his legacy into the Book of Armagh. The text follows pilgrims climbing the stones of Croagh Patrick and explores the traditions of the shamrock and the serpents. The volume leaves the reader with the Celtic Trinitarian faith of the Lorica, ready to bind Christ to every moment of the day.
