48 Inch Christmas Tree Skirt, Red Velvet Tree Skirts with Gold Trim, Bow Tie Closure Tree Skirt for Christmas Decoration

This tree skirt looks and feels much better in person than I expected. The velvet is soft and doesn't feel cheap, and the red and gold combination has an elegant, traditional look. I would agree with the listing that it has a more luxurious feel than a basic tree skirt. I really like that the opening uses several Velcro tabs along the seam. Between those tabs and the stiffness of the fabric, the opening stays closed well, and unlike ties, the Velcro doesn't show above the skirt. A lot of tree skirts just have a few ties at the back, which may look pretty in the listing photos but still leave a visible slit between them. The Velcro setup here avoids that, but the placement wasn't thought through very well. Both halves of each Velcro tab are attached to the underside of the skirt, one on each edge of the opening. To fasten them together, you have to bring those two underside surfaces toward each other, which makes the edges turn upward and causes the seam to stick up in the back instead of lying flat. It would have worked much better if the skirt had just a little extra material so one edge could overlap the other, with Velcro on the underside of the top edge and the top of the bottom edge. Then the seam could close completely while still lying flat. The 48-inch size is fine for my tree and will cover the stand and cords, but it won't extend very far beyond the tree once everything is set up. If you want a tree skirt that flows farther out from underneath a larger tree, I'd consider the 60-inch version. Bottom line: It looks elegant, feels soft and well made, and I'm very happy with the overall quality. The back closure design isn't my favorite, but hopefully it will be hidden behind the tree.
