I know this type of a gooseneck kettle is intended for pour over coffee. But I've been looking for a small tea kettle and have been unsatisfied with the results. One big reason? The base of other small kettles is too small for a cooktop burner. I guess they might work on a gas burner BUT I love that this fits perfectly on the small burner. I feel this would be the same for most cooktops. And you can easily see how high the temperature gets, even if it doesn't whistle when boiling. The other tea kettle I bought had a whistle feature, but it never worked anyway! And it was impossible to empty due to the placement of the pour spout. So I'm calling this the perfect tea kettle for me. And it heats so fast! If you want to make 2 to 4 cups of tea, I think it would be perfect for you too. Highly recommended.
