I wanted a new doormat for just inside a doorway, mainly to have somewhere to wipe off shoes before tracking dirt farther into the house. I've been replacing some of the older, more basic items around the house with things that are still practical but make the space look a little cleaner and more updated. This 24" x 36" size works well in front of the doorway without taking up too much floor space. I also like that it's designed to trap dirt and absorb moisture, since that's exactly what I need from a mat in this location. The non-slip backing is useful because I don't want a doorway mat constantly sliding around every time someone wipes their shoes. I went with the blue for a little bit of color rather than another plain black or brown mat. It's a simple household item, but details like a clean-looking entry mat help make the whole space feel more finished. I'll have to see how it holds up with regular use and machine wash over time. The price is on the higher side compared with other doormats, but hopefully it will be worthwhile.
