Veeniix Amphibious Remote Control Snake Toy with Sound, Realistic RC Prank Snake, Brown

This thing is just silly-fun. Unlike a rubber snake, no one will be fooled, but it's a neat toy, and the serpentine movements are more natural looking than I would have guessed. No doubt, this is the greatest cat (or small dog) toy ever invented. It fits under more things than I imagined, and slithering under furniture and shelving is just the coolest thing. The rubber tires work great on a slick wood floor, but it stalls easily on medium shag carpeting, despite the pic in the ad, I am certain that it will not work well in dirt, if at all. It's great in the water. The auto-sensor works well, and though the gasketed battery cover requires a screwdriver, I ran this in a pond, as well as submerged it in a sink, and not a drop of water got inside the compartment. The power switch (on the underside) is encased in a neoprene (?) cover that likely will be the first thing to fail on this...if it even matters. It swims faster than I anticipated from the small propellers (spares included) and self-rights when capsized. A quick search finds this selling for slightly more everywhere else. I don't see a 3 year old maintaining the attention span required to navigate this toy...5 to 10 or 12 is likely the ideal age. I don't have a boat, so I didn't care to find out the actual range, but the manufacturer's stated range of 20 to 30 meters is a bit concerning, as that's a large discrepancy. I'll let the kids learn the hard way. A perfect score is a bit much, but it beats a 4.
