Mosaflare Ocean View Paint by Numbers Kit for Adults and Beginners,DIY Craft Art 16"x20" Canvas

my step daughter is going to love this aside from photography painting is another thing she likes to do. she randomly goes down to paint and she usually likes to paint flowers trees and stuff like that so this will be great especially since it's numberd(she enjoys the diamond paintings) but figured she'd enjoy actually being able to use real paint and brushes to start to learn how to blend and stroke a canvas for certain effects and colors. Also it's on a canvas without the frame, idk but for whatever reason I thought it'd just be like cardstock or some type of heavy weight paper but this is great because when she's done we can frame it or I can actually have the wooden pieces on the back so it can hang

This will take a while! The serene tropical picture is what caught our eye, and we thought it would be fun to give painting a go. We haven't done a paint-by-number since we were kids. They've changed. We remember painting cardboard. Now it's on canvas, folded for shipping, of course. Obviously, adult paint-by-numbers are much more detailed than what we did way back when. The numbers and some spaces to paint are very tiny. We'll need the magnifying glasses for this project. On first impression it seems a little overwhelming, but with time and patience, we'll surely putter our way to completion someday. Today, we can only comment on the product, not the finished art, which will only look as good as our artistic skills. As a craft kit, this project comes complete with the canvas, 25 paints, 3 brushes, and some hanging hooks. There's an instruction sheet with a line art drawing for reference, and a small, colored reference image. We may go to the product images and print out our own full-sheet image of the completed picture for better reference. Size-wise, we were encouraged that it was labeled a 16 x 20 picture so we could plan for a standard frame. Well, look closely. The real measurements are slightly less, about 15.75 x 19.5 to the border lines. We'll just paint over the edges to make sure the picture will fill the frame. The materials look to be good quality. The canvas is wrinkled, but the instructions advise that that may happen, so it's best to flatten it before painting. To paint this flat on the table, we'll need to be mindful of wet paint so we don't smudge the canvas with arms and elbows. Maybe if someone had an easel, they could try to hang it up to paint. We like that the kit includes the three different size brushes to handle the details. For general diversity of color, we may grab a few of our own craft brushes to work on different colors at the same time. The printed lines are thin, but they look complete to differentiate spots. We haven't decided how exactly to tackle this painting yet. We think maybe do the big spots first, and then work our way down to details so we can attempt to blend them in. We don't think there's a science to paint-by-number. It's just something to amuse ourselves, and when it's done, we hope our handiwork is worthy of hanging on the wall. We do like the relaxing scenery to work in. We hope that painting the tiny areas proves to be equally as relaxing and not frustrating. So yeah, we'll give the kit itself 5-stars, and we'd recommend this product to those who are patient and detail-oriented. (Sorry the format doesn't recognize paragraphs.)
