The individual part come off by pressing on the bright yellow trigger. The vacuum comes apart all the way to handle with the motor. For everything related to cleaning the filter, the collection cup, that is described in the information folder. Before using this vacuum, put it together, charge fully before using the first time. The vacuum comes with a Garage so you can hang it from the wall and all the separate pieces for this vacuum. As to, how it works: I absolutely love this vacuum, it's lightweight easy to handle and it's great that it will vacuum hard wood, laminated or tile: Great! Handling: because it is so light it will go under furniture, does kitchen floor , make sure you don't suck up wet spills or soft wet dropping. After your first full charge I put it away until needed again and some time I charge it real Quick. For the cleaning you find the instructions that comes with the vacuum. My best vacuum ever. It's really lightweight which is important for me (Eighty old) I use mine mostly for the carpeted living room. It's not as strong over carpets, just have to go over carpets a couple of times to capture everything. Suction: is really good, love how it works so easy from carpet to runner in the hall, all flooring and even the kitchen floor.
