Propper Ratchet Buckle Belt

I like the ratcheting mechanism, well designed and easy release. The mechanism seems to hold the belt without slippage, which is significantly better than my old military web belts (Vietnam era). THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM, IT IS A COMMENT WHICH YOU SHOULD CONSIDER WHEN "BUYING THE BELT LENGTH WHICH FITS YOU": The 40"-42" belt, which is the sizing in my leather belt, is 52" overall length, excluding the buckle. This leaves 10"-12" of excess length at the end of the belt - a lot of extra belt. I am sure Propper had a reason for so much excess length 'flopping around', but I don't know why. You may be well served by ordering the next smaller belt size (36"-38") for example, which is 48" in overall length. This is the same overall length, by direct measurement, of the leather belt I use now which is also sized at 42”. That belt length/sizing seems OK, so it may make sense to order the next smaller size down for your actual waist size. Yes, I am happy with the belt, and it should be good for many years...I have ordered 2 of these in the 36"-38" length, as my daily wear belts. The continuously adjustable length is a big factor in my decision. NOTE: THERE IS A LOT OF METAL IN THE BUCKLE, TSA MAY WANT YOU TO REMOVE THE BELT AT CHECK POINTS, JUST DO IT...FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. (:-)
