The shorts have two slit side pockets. The shorts drawstring waistband is wide and comfortable. The top is boxy fitting with a v-neck. The shorts are on the shorter side and loose fitting. The top length is not above the waist. It landed just at the top of the shorts waistband. I feel comfortable wearing this outfit outside.
