Key item features

  • COLD-WEATHER READY: AUTO DEFROST DOWN TO 41°F: Designed for cold basements, crawl spaces, garages, and storage rooms. In Northeast and Midwest winters, basements can get near 41°F; ordinary dehumidifiers may frost up and stop. Auto defrost helps maintain reliable performance in cold-season conditions.
  • FAST WINTER CLOTHES DRYING & CONDENSATION CONTROL: When outdoor drying is not an option, indoor laundry can raise humidity and leave clothes musty. Helps dry clothes faster and helps reduce window/wall-corner condensation and damp conditions that can lead to musty odors and mold risk.
  • 80-PINT MAX / 25-PINT DOE FOR UP TO 5,000 SQ. FT.: Extracts up to 80 pints/day at 95°F/90%RH and a DOE-rated 25 pints at 65°F/60%RH. Built for basements, crawl spaces, storage rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, and whole floors up to 5,000 sq ft. Helps reduce excess moisture and musty odors.
  • CONTINUOUS DRAIN + TANK FOR UNATTENDED WINTER USE: Includes a 3.3 ft gravity drain hose plus a built-in tank with self-drying function and automatic defrosting. Ideal for unattended basements, vacation homes, RV/boat winter storage, and winter construction/remodel drying. Choose continuous drain for set-and-forget operation.
  • R32, CERTIFIED & ALWAYS-ON FOR HUMID WINTER CLIMATES: R32 refrigerant, 115V~60Hz, 262 W, and 205 m³/h airflow. Certified to DOE, CEC, UL, and 2026 Energy-Star standards. Suitable for Southeast and Pacific Northwest winters when indoor humidity can still exceed 50%–60%. Compact size: 9.25 x 13.19 x 19.69 in; net weight 30.86 lbs, gross weight 33.07 lbs. Model: CHWA80B / 80B-CHWA. Includes 1 dehumidifier + 1 drain hose.

A necessity for any new (or old) basement

I bought this a month ago when we moved to our new home specifically for the basement. Since it was newly built, the basement air had about 70% humidity which over time can cause dampness and mildew. In that month, the Waykar has brought down the humidity to the mid 40s. It has had not issues and just keeps humming along. It is convenient that a garden hose can be hooked up to the back of it and the pulled water drain into the sump pump crock.

Waykar Home Dehumidifier

This dehumidifier is designed for indoor use like area's that may have higher humidity levels. Yes, it's quiet enough for living rooms, bedrooms, and wet areas with three fan speed settings. I chose this model for my basement due to high humidity levels. When I plugged it in the reading was 72 rh, now it's reading 56rh. Our basement is medium size and is much more comfortable now. If you prefer a lower setting it offers lower rh settings. Turn your basement into a more enjoyable environment today.
