Birodeko 64 x 36 x 5 in Roof Rack Basket, 250 lb Rooftop Cargo Carrier

The Birodeko Heavy Duty Roof Rack Basket with 20 cu ft Waterproof Cargo Bag moves tents, luggage and oversized gear out of the cabin so passengers keep their legroom on the long drive to a national park or a weekend campsite. A two-piece frame slides between 45 and 64 inches, so the same basket sits inside the roofline of a compact SUV and then stretches out for a full-size truck or van, while the 36 inch width still leaves room for a bike tray or roof box alongside. Reinforced tubular steel carries up to 250 lb, and the black powder coat over an epoxy base resists road salt, standing water and summer UV through repeated seasons of use. The vinyl bag relies on heat-sealed seams and a 5.5 inch Velcro flap instead of a stitched zipper line, which is what keeps rain, snow and highway dust out of sleeping bags and duffels, and the lockable zippers stop casual hands at a rest stop. An integrated wind fairing smooths airflow at the leading edge of the basket, the point where most roof noise and drag begin, and anti-slip side rails plus a 36 by 60 inch cargo net and 2200 lb ratchet straps keep a mixed load from shifting on rough pavement. Installation on existing crossbars takes about 15 minutes with basic hand tools, so the basket comes off between trips and goes back on when the next one starts. For families who need cargo room a few weekends a year without towing a trailer, the adjustable frame and sealed bag cover both jobs in one purchase.
