This was to replace an earlier model that gave us years of great service, but died. This cooker is as good as the other one-before it died. I miss having a removable lid so that I can just stick leftovers in the fridge, and my previous cooker cooked brown rice much quicker. I still love it. It is convenient and small enough to be easy to store, and then get out easily.

This is my first rice cooker so I can't compare it to others but this seems to be an excellent choice. Very simple to use after reading the short instruction booklet. I've made about eight batches of rice so far and every one has turned out perfect. I've cooked both plain white rice as well as added seasonings and additional ingredients prior to cooking. Seems to work well on boxed seasoned rice mixes also. I have not tried the steamer function. The outside of the cooker stays fairly cool to the touch and the lid seals firmly in place which is helpful if you have young children. I anticipate getting a lot of use out of this product.
