AKASO Brave 4 Pro 4K30FPS Action Camera - 131ft Waterproof Camera with Touch Screen Advanced EIS Remote Control 5X Zoom Underwater Camera Support External Mic

Looking into alternatives to the GoPro for mountain biking and other adventure sports, I found the Akaso Brave 7 LE recommended by several review sites. I'm certainly not disappointed. The camera and case appear quite well made and perform well from my testing so far. The camera body is solid. The doors for AV connection and battery are a little tight and hard to open, but appear to be good at keeping out dust and moisture. The memory card slot isn't the easiest to get to, but that's a minor issue as you can connect the camera through USB or HDMI without the need to remove and install it all the time. The touch screen interface is easy to use and menus are easy to navigate. Front screen is useful for self recording. The screw hole on the bottom makes it compatible with most tripods and other mounts. My one criticism is that the notification beeps are way too quiet. The case is solid and holds the camera tightly with no vibration except under the most extreme bumps. I haven't water tested it yet, but imagine it works quite well. And the bottom bracket is compatible with most action camera accessories, giving a very wide range of mounting options. Back to the notification beeps, I wish I could hear them through the case. The same applies to the microphone which doesn't pick up any sound while in the case except the occasional camera bumping inside. I might even order another case and just drill a hole near the mic in order to record on-land adventure. The box also comes with a good variety of accessories and two batteries for plenty of mounting and recording power. The wrist watch style remote is also a great bonus. The competitors only offer a couple of mounting options in their package, and remotes are sold separately. In the case of the Akaso, the only thing you'll need to buy is the memory card. I haven't really seen the video stabilization vs the competitors' except in commercials, and we all know how believable ads are, right? But it's smooth enough to make me happy.

Works alright for the price. Similar to a GoPro.
