Firstly, each shoe came inside a "cloth" type baggie, inside the shoe box. I thought this was an unexpected nice touch. It's not an expensive cloth, but it's unusual to find each shoe wrapped up individually, so that stood out to me. Secondly, the top strap has a tiny little bit of give. I missed that part when I ordered this - that this has an elastic ankle strap. But it's actually a good thing! My fat feet really appreciate this feature, because I needed that extra give. Thirdly, I think this shoe is best for wide feet. Usually shoes are made for narrow feet, but I think a narrow foot might actually slide down the front toe loop. It held my wide duck feet just perfectly. The double strap looks very nice, and it's very comfortable (although I haven't worn it for any length of time yet). I don't like high heels, which is why I lean toward kitten heels. But some kitten heels can be so skinny, that even though it's short, you still feel like you might twist your ankle. I didn't feel that with these shoes, it felt pretty sturdy. These would be good for a date night... but definitely not kayaking.
