Great Value Ditalini, 16 oz

The box felt a bit heavier than one pound. It weighs 17.2 oz unopened. A box of GV small shells weighs 17.0 oz. Not sure I could actually sense that difference but I'm satisfied we get the full pound or more. When I make a simple bachelor meal like a can of beans and some ground pork mixed together, I like a simple pasta or brown rice to serve it on. Ditalini to the rescue. I think these can carry the maximum amount of sauce per bite. I usually make extra for the next day - stir in a teaspoon of oil with the leftover pasta to prevent it from sticking later. Eggs and bacon bits or tiny cooked salad shrimp can make a satisfying omelet the next day. This size is also good for cold pasta salads.

Versatile. Good stuff.
