I got this 11-piece teak utensil set because I recently switched to non-stick cookware and my metal spatulas were starting to scratch the surface. I also had a random collection of plastic utensils that were melting and warping over time. The wooden set with the included holder and spoon rest looked like a complete solution for someone who cooks almost every night. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is the smell. The teak wood has a warm, natural scent that made me feel like I was opening something from a nice kitchen store, not a box from online. The wood is smooth with no rough splinters or weird varnish coating. The color is a warm honey-brown that looks beautiful sitting on my counter in the included holder. The set includes a spatula, slotted spoon, solid spoon, turning spoon, fork, ladle, scraper, pasta server, spoon rest, and the holder. That's eleven pieces but really ten utensils plus the holder. Everything I needed and nothing I didn't. The spoon rest is a nice bonus because I usually just lay my spoon across the stove and make a mess. Using these utensils has been a joy. They are heat resistant. I left a spatula in a hot pan of ground beef for a few minutes and it didn't scorch or leave any marks. They are soft enough that I don't worry about scratching my non-stick surface but sturdy enough that I can scrape up fond from the bottom of a stainless steel pan. The long handles keep my hands away from splattering oil. The spoon rest works well but it's smaller than I expected. It holds one utensil comfortably but if you are using two or three at once, it gets crowded. The holder is a nice touch but the utensils fit loosely inside. They rattle around when I grab one and sometimes fall over. I ended up putting the holder in a drawer and just keeping the utensils in a crock I already had. My one complaint after a few weeks of use is that the wood is starting to show wear. The spatula edge has a slight dark stain from tomato sauce and the spoon has a few light scratches. Nothing that affects performance, but if you want these to stay pristine, you have to hand wash and oil them. I hand wash but haven't oiled them yet. I'm hoping these utensils don't crack or split over time. Teak is supposed to be durable but wood is wood. So far so good. Perfect for anyone with non-stick pans or anyone who wants a kitchen that looks a little more put together. My metal spatulas are retired and my pans are finally scratch-free

i love this set. it looks incredible and it contains everything that i need. it is a little tight in the holder. that is not really a problem but it is something that i noticed.
