It's not loose. -the shirt is cute and is ruched on both sides. -the pants can be worn as a X-Large too there's extra room -if your a larger medium I'd get a large if you like to size up -it's true to size as far as I can tell - I would guess a small would have an exact true to size small shirt%26pants on the looser side ..but still a small. Keep in mind you can always mix and match! I also wore this shirt under my overalls! And the pants are so soft and nice I'll wear a light sweater or jean jacket/cute top over the tighter top to feel comfortable when feeling insecure…layering looks cute! Great product, the material is so soft, and well made. Definitely would recommend. Only downside the top does run a little short but it very stretchy. So as long as that isn't a problem then I think it will be a good fit to add to your collection.
