I ordered the so-called plus-size set in a 3X because I thought the marketing meant real curves, not a trick question. The moment I opened the package, I realized I had been duped by a cruel joke played by a mischievous fairy. The bra feels like it was designed for a porcelain doll, the underwire is so delicate it might snap if you sneeze, and the panty is basically a ruffle-covered handkerchief. I slipped it on, and the high waist sat higher than my eyebrows, while the criss-cross lace tried its best to hide the fact that the whole thing is basically a miniature costume. The nipples on the bra are barely a suggestion, like a faint whisper that says "I could be there," but the fabric is so thin you can practically see the outline of the real thing. The feel is somewhere between a feather and a paper cut-soft enough to make you think you're wearing silk, but flimsy enough that a gust of wind could turn you into a walking billboard for invisible underwear. I tried to imagine what a smaller size would even look like. If a 3X fits a person who could be mistaken for a child, then a 2X must be for toddlers, and an XS would be a fashion accessory for a hamster. The ruffle detail is adorable, if you enjoy watching a small piece of fabric flop around like a flag on a toy boat. In short, this set is perfect if you enjoy playing dress-up with doll clothes, want to prank your partner, or simply wish to experience the existential dread of buying something that claims to be plus-size but is actually a cruel joke in lace. I will be returning it for a refund and a reality check, because no one should ever have to endure this level of size deception.
