Mainstays 0.9 Cu Ft 3-in-1 Air Fry Convection Microwave Oven, 900 Watts

I needed a new microwave. I was surprised to see this combo had better reviews than some of the name brands so I decided to give it a try. This combo does require 12 inches of free space above it, and 3 inches on each side. I would recommend having that space as the combo does get hot around the outside of it. Fortunately, I am able to slide this to the edge of my counter and get the clearance needed from the cabinets. The manual also says don't put anything on top of the combo. So I have to find a new home for the hot pads and such that I normally keep on top the microwave so they don't catch fire and/or melt to the top of the combo. I bought mozzarella sticks to try in the air fryer. The box said preheat the air fryer to 360, cook for 6-7 minutes for 6 sticks. Following the manual I was unable to figure out how to preheat the air fryer or change the temp to 360. So I decided to try the auto-cook setting for Mozzarella sticks. I think the weight came up 60. I just used the default, whatever it was that came up. I put 6 sticks on the air fryer tray, and I stood there and watched them cook, so I didn't blow cheese all over the oven, as the preset was for 10 minutes. LOL The preset/auto-cook worked perfect. One cheese stick cracked on the side, but the air fryer stopped before the cheese ran out of it. The mozzarella sticks came out nice and crispy. Just perfect. I guess the preheat is figured in the auto-cook or something. Unfortunately I didn't think to take a picture before I ate them all. LOL The 30 sec button works great for nuking coffee. The most used button on my microwave. Again, this is an oven so it does get hotter than a microwave. I briefly touched my arm to the open door when taking the mozzarella sticks out. It was very hot like an oven door. The top and sides on the outside get pretty hot when using the air fryer. I am single, so the size is great for me. I think the size would be good for a family of two. You may need to nuke a couple of batches of cheese sticks or chicken wings if you're cooking for a larger family. I'm not really sure. I guess it depends on how much y'all eat. Haha I'm very excited about this purchase so far. To top it off, the price was great!
