These briefs are stretchable cotton and are made of wicking cool comfort material which keeps the moisture away from your skin. Everyone I have given gifts of clothing made with moisture wicking material has loved what I gifted. The briefs are not very soft to the touch so perhaps they need washing first. They are lightweight boxer briefs and fit a bit lower on the waist, just below the belly button. According to the washing instructions, you should machine wash cold with similar colors and do not use fabric softener and only non-chlorine bleach and tumble dry on low. I will follow those directions but most likely I will forget to do this. These briefs have no irritating tags and the wide waist stretches to fit which will no doubt make them super comfortable.
