It comes with a USB cable, and the timer controls are straightforward for setting both hours and minutes, as well as choosing when the lock should activate. There is a small opening at the bottom so a phone can still accept a call or use an alarm while locked, and another opening to run a charging cable if needed. I do wish the inside had some cushioning or a way to secure the phone more firmly, since it can move around freely. The overall design feels fairly sturdy, but if a teenager was absolutely determined... or someone accidentally locked themselves out for 99 hours... I imagine it could be broken open, which honestly is not the worst thing for a safety product. Most kids probably would not want to smash it and get themselves in even more trouble anyway. My main complaint is that it feels a bit basic. It would be great if it had Bluetooth or wireless connectivity so you could monitor or set the lock from your phone instead of relying only on the built-in timer. The design looks a bit generic, and I suspect there are similar versions under different brand names, but for what it does... helping create boundaries around phone use... it works well.
