I was expecting something a tad bit different in the fabric department. It looked like it was going to be canvas, but it's actually rather silky and has a shine to it.. It is not as thick with the quilted as it looks in the picture but once you put it on, it does look exactly like the picture.. it is not thick. I would say it's more of a midseason jacket, appropriate for fall, but not necessarily winter. It is stylish and perfect for a teen. A size medium fit my son who is very slender and very skinny, he's 5 foot 10 and about 105 pounds. We could've actually gone with a large because the cut and fit of the coat is more for a teenager not an adult.
