Just what I needed. My old one was huge, excessively heavy, cumbersome to move around the yard to mow under it. Also my old one was such that if the hammock breaks I'm going to land on a huge metal pole and break my tailbone. This one is PERFECT: it's just Light enough once assembled I can move it around the yard to mow under it. I feel safer in this because of its design and I don't think it will tip as easy if at all. With the spreader bars of my loooong hammock so close to the bars of this hammock stand, that will restrict it from a lot of swinging, but as a heavy older person that's OK mostly I just want to lounge comfortably in this and while getting in and out I don't have to worry about it Capsizing! Nota Bene: I did have a tiny bit of trouble assembling only because one of the pipes was slightly bent at the opening ( not perfectly round) and therefore wouldn't slide into the other pipe which was perfectly round at the opening. I tried to insert a metal rod and bend it out straight but this must be solid steel as it wouldn't budge. So I took a big metal hammer and a few bonks to the other pipe to try to mimic the other one managed to slightly change the shape of the pipe, and some twisting and wiggling, it slid in. One of the other pipes was a bit snug going in so I tried another one and it went in just fine. Maybe I should've tried some WD-40 but didn't think of that until now. I expected them to fit snug though and I was glad l kept trying and succeeded because I didn't want to have to wait until my husband got home to help me put this together. I love that it comes in blue. I love that my super extra extra long hammock can fit in this due to the design with the adjustable chains and option to loop down over the side bars and hook it. Time will tell how long the paint will last, but it seems very well constructed! A little pricier than l wanted to pay, but was the best option after a little shopping around. Was packaged well enough and shipped quickly. Organized clear easy to follow instructions included. Heavy and long box l couldn't lift so had to open it on the porch where it was delivered and carry a few poles and parts and pieces at a time out to the backyard but was so excited about my new hammock l didn't mind at all. Before I bought this, I didn't measure my old Hamic to see if it would fit in this stand. Maybe I lucked out, or maybe it's pretty universal but I was a little surprised the overall length of this was a good few feet shorter than the overall length of my old hammock stand. I actually loved that it was shorter! Takes up less space in my yard and like I mentioned earlier, much easier to move around and I think it just looks better! Super happy with this Mother's Day present I purchased for myself and my mental health!
