My dog handles outfits just fine. We got her somewhat settled for fireworks and thunder storms (does not shake anymore but will bark). I did want to try the marketed “thunder vest” (never liked their grey color). So when I saw this in black with pink trim and thought I would try and see if it helped her at all. I really liked the style. The M size said 20-24” girth and weight of 20-27 lbs. My dog measured 20-21” girth and weighs 21.5 lb, and the M was the only size available. The M vest fits my dog perfectly. I was concerned that I might be too big, but good stretchy material and wrap flap adjustments. Note: my dog has a 14” color neck, the neck of the vest is not too big, fits great. It did come in a plastic, zipper bag without any instructions. So I was careful disassembling prior to putting it on my dog. Thus I had no problem installing. Just undo the Velcro flaps, then place the head and right paw holes over the dog (no hole needed for left paw) then thread the RH flap through the LH vest slot (creating the LH paw “opening”) and then wrap the LH flap around the dog snuggly and finish with putting the RH flap over the LH, securing the Velcro, so the 2 reflective stripes are showing on the out side. She seems to enjoy wearing it. Makes her more secure? Only time will tell. She had it on for about 2 hours, she did not over heat (no panting). But I did notice her fur seemed hot when I remove her vest.
