It's big enough for whole back coverage up/down. The back side (white side) is where the heat comes from. At %235 on the controller is too hot, so I stop the temp at %234. It's a timed controller, so it'll just blink a (-) when it shuts off.. No need to touch the power button just choose your desired %23. I love it %26 use it day %26 night since I have a bad neck %26 back. I'm recommending this one to anyone who needs more coverage for their body.
