sizing is not accurate, shipped slow

I ordered a size "44" as they only gave european sizes, so I used the standardized size chart to convert and"44" is a 10.5 US, I wear a size 10 so I thought it would be fine. When they arrived (not with any great speed and I realized it was not Walmart, but a prefered seller) and I tried them on they were way small, heals sticking out the back. I checked the label and yes "44" but in reality I would estimate they would fit a size 9.
