These are a nice thick material, not see through. The fleece lining is just enough to make them warmer than regular leggings without being too thick that they make you hot. I wouldn't call them high waisted though. Mine actually fit a bit lower than regular jeans. Not low rise, but not regular fit either. Kind of in between. Overall, I'm happy with them.

There are so many product reviews that mine is hardly needed, but I have to say this is one of the best things I've ever bought for cold weather. Though I was skeptical of the one size fits all, it fit perfectly for my petite length. I like the high waist for warmth and also because I never liked things that feel like they are falling off your hips. Both the smooth outside and the flannel lining of the lined version feel luxurious and very warm. I also bought one of the cable variety, which does not have a flannel lining, and it is really better for indoors. The lined leggings would be best for wearing under pants if spending time outside in the cold, or if worn just with a dress; they might be too hot if worn under pants indoors. I hope this won't be considered a detraction, but this seems like a very good product for an older woman. Easy to pull on and off.
