The Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH works very well. It is stylish, and quiet even on the high setting (less than a normal fan). It is about the size of a small suitcase which was a bit of a surprise for me based on the pictures. But it does a fantastic job of cleaning the air and the permanent filter guard is really nice.

Quiet on setting 2 Replaced older Whirlpool units

Quiet on setting 2. Can turn off air quality light by holding down ionizer button. No sqeeks like the old Whirlpool ones I was using. I like the prefilter protecting the black filter. Do not intend to use the air sensor at all. Just keep it simple with fan setting 2 and the air quality light off.

At first I didn't think this thing was working because it was indicating my air quality was fine in the house. Then when cooking the sensor turned red. It didn't take long for it to clear the air in the house. I am quite surprised it doesn't show dirty air other than cooking. Hopefully it picks up allergens and pollutants other than that.
