It's a single layer of material, and the elastic across the top of the boob on the side without the strap (left side) kind of digs in, which isn't the most comfortable sensation, but at least it doesn't seem likely to slide down. There are no pads, so I had to place my own pads in there. The elastic everywhere seems strong enough it will probably keep my pads in place. Seems it will be generally suitable until my left shoulder heals.
