My old "stick" Shark finally gave out. This time, I decided to go with the larger Shark vacuum: the Shark Navigator. I have had it now for two weeks and I love it! I have a lot of pets, so pet hair is everywhere. This new vacuum takes care of the problem. I did a test: I vacuumed my sofa cushions with my new Shark, I then sat on the cushions with a dark pair of pants. Lo and behold, no pet hair on the backside of the pants! I like that the dust bin is much larger than what was on my old "stick" Shark -- there are less trips to the trash can to empty. The suction is awesome. I do have some oriental carpets with fringe, and my new vacuum doesn't suck the fringe up -- like my old Shark did. That's a bonus for me! The attachments work well, and it's quick and easy to disengage the vacuum pole from the main vacuum. The vacuum is louder than my old Shark, but I don't care; it does not bother me. I wish the vacuum had a light near the base; I miss that. But it is not a deal-breaker. The only improvement I can think of is minor. The small hook on the vacuum where the cord can be attached to keep it up, secured, and away from your feet is too large. It does not hold the cord in place. The card keeps falling off. I fixed that by wrapping painter's tape around the cord (to make it thicker) at the spot where I attach the card to the hook. Now it's secured. Other than that, this vacuum is a keeper!!
