I would highly recommend the 12” strider before the 14”, my granddaughter rode the 12”for a couple years and learned really good balance with no pedals. When she got on the 14” with pedals her first try she was a pro and is still riding the bike with pedals no problem. Totally bypassed training wheels .Great purchase, the pedal kit is a separate purchase
