The couch is soft to lay on and to touch. When you sit on it your feet wont touch the floor. i was surprised it didnt have a back to it. the cushions only come up about 7 inches. they do give you 3 back cushions but they arent thick, more like a pillow. so, you have to have the couch against a wall and add other cushions to it to have a back. it is nice to sleep on. i believe its worth the money that i paid. it fills my living room in my small 1 bedroom house. i finally have a spot for guests to sleep over. to have room for my lazyboy chair, i am going to try putting the chaisse part in the middle.
