The desk was very heavy when it arrived, so I recommend having two people for assembly. It took about 1.5 hours for the two of us to put it together. The desk was easy to assemble, and each piece was clearly numbered, which made the process much smoother. Once assembled, the desk feels solid and sturdy. Wow! Every teeny tiny bit of this had to be assembled. I couldn't have done it, but I had a friend who could. Took a few hours but was done in an afternoon. That said, I would buy it again. It's attractive and sturdy. I'm using it as a vanity desk in my bedroom. I bought it in black and it doesn't look like it was made for a little girl's bedroom which was important to me.
