Nanit Better Sleep Baby Monitor Bundle with Wall Mount (Walmart Exclusive)

I love how it lets me check on my baby, even if I'm in another room or out of the house. Getting real-time notifications means I don't have to constantly worry or sneak in to peek while she's sleeping. Honestly, the sleep dashboard and routine tracking have been life-savers. They help me stick to nap and bedtime schedules, which keeps everyone in a better mood. The feeding and diaper log is so handy, especially when the pediatrician asks about her routine. Lastly, having the breathing motion monitoring gives me so much reassurance. Setup was quick, and the video quality is amazing; even at night. The two-way audio is great, too; it's so sweet being able to soothe her just by talking. I also love sharing little video clips with family. Her grandparents especially appreciate it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this from Stellar Product Testing Panel. This is my third child, but the first time I've ever had a baby monitor. We have a very small house, and the baby is still sleeping in our room, and I didn't necessarily want to try this out in there (for obvious reasons) so I put it in the bedroom that my other two children (now 6 and almost 4) sleep in. It has been an absolute game changer, even for older kids. (A disclaimer, the instructions say to only use this product above a crib, for a baby.) So, I'm going to write this review from two different perspectives: To parents that are considering this product and the accompanying app for a baby, and also for small children as well (although it's not necessarily designed for this purpose and isn't necessarily certified safe for this use). The newborn motion monitor band was included in the package with the camera, and they sent an additional one in the larger size for a bigger baby. My baby was 6 months at the time of testing it out, and both bands do fit, and work well but my suggestion is to have both. The band itself is surprisingly low tech. It's just a cozy, stretchy band with shapes printed on it, and my baby was comfortable wearing it. I really liked that there wasn't anything wired or magnetic or batteries or anything else on the baby, just fabric. Honestly, I didn't spend tons of time exploring this feature, and while the message “baby is moving” didn't seem especially helpful or informative, not so glamorous, it was reassuring that the monitor could let me know at least my baby was alive, which, for most exhausted post-partum parents, that's really all you need anyway. In my opinion, I think more information, numbers, and details would have been more to worry over. I I love the features in the app; two-way voice is amazing. I can talk through it, and my child can hear me clearly. This is useful for my baby, for lullabies and reassurance, and useful for my older ones so I'm not yelling across the house. There are so many cool options, like smart sheets that measure your baby's height so you can watch them grow, and different insight and memory plans to choose from, as well as an entire community. My kids love the nightlight feature and the sounds they can choose from. (A note about the sounds, choose the “loop” option, and not 30 or 60 minutes, because the kids mentioned it to me, when it restarts the track it can be jarring and annoying, apparently. The continuous loop option seems to have resolved those issues for them, because there have been no further complaints since I switched it. They unanimously prefer to go to sleep to the nanit nature sounds over the Spotify lullabies we used to listen to. As far as the camera itself, installation was super easy, and the picture is crystal clear. My husband was very impressed with the quality of night vision, (and commented that it's better than any game camera he's ever seen, for those who might like to use this somewhat nefariously.) I also really love that it alerts my phone when baby cries. If my baby is crying anywhere in my house, actually, it'll let me know. I didn't know I needed this little baby monitor. And I didn't even know lots of these features existed, but I highly recommend it and I've been shopping the rest of Nanit's line of products because this is such a thoughtfully designed tool. Nanit clearly understands parents, new ones and experienced ones, and I absolutely love this company and their innovative, thoughtful, insightful products. If I'm honest, I didn't expect to like this product. I expected to review it and put it right back in the box. But this has improved my life in several different ways. My kids feel more confident, more secure sleeping in their room, knowing that I can check in on them and talk to them and see them. I thought it would be weird for them, but they don't wake up scared anymore. It stopped them from coming to my bed at night, because they feel safe now. I thought it would be a huge invasion of their privacy, if I could hear and see them all the time, but they actually prefer it. !! Turns out, they want me to hear and see them all the time at this age, and they like it. It gives me so much peace of mind too, being able to just peek at them, anytime I wake up at night. That I can look and make sure my little one isn't going to fall off her bed. It's made me a more empathetic mom, because before, they'd be talking in there and I'd be frustrated that they wouldn't sleep. But now, I can hear them if I want, and their conversations during those last moments before they sleep melt my heart because they're so sweet. There is so much more peace in our house because of this little thing. (A note: in the photos, my wire isn't properly covered at the top, because during install I just temporarily stuck it to the wall, along with all the cover pieces to try them out, thinking I would remove it after reviewing. I moved it to see if I like it better lower, so there's some slack in the cord now. But now that I know which position I want it to stay, I'm going to put the cover back on properly,) I do plan to keep it in there for the foreseeable future, now that I know how much we like it. For the sake of review though, I wanted to show how it looks at night, because the red lights weren't in many reviews I saw. Also, the mounting bracket has a level, which I think is very cool.) The cord cover piece is sticky, and it did damage my wall. Not removing any stars for this, but it's kind of a bummer.
