I was looking for a bunk set that would make both my 5 year old happy to have a bunk bed, and safe enough for my 18m old to sleep safely on the bottom without worrying that he could roll off in his sleep. both my boys have slept in bed with us so this was prrfect to transition them into safe beds at the same time. i always refer to reviews when purchasing online and if youre worried due to some of the bad reviews that ALMOST deterred me from buying this amazing bed, let me help you! pros 1. it came well packaged. it was left in the rain for about an hour until i was home to move it into my sun porch. bc it was so well packaged there was absolitely no wetness that had made it to the pieces bc everytbing was enclosed in styrofoam on each of the sides 2. the directions were SO simple to follow. if you can read, then you can do this. it also has pictures to show exactly even if you were not sure via the worded directjons. 3. i read that it would take 2 people about 2.5 hours. my hubby is not very handy (bless his heart) but he put this together in about an hour and 20 min by himself. the only thing he needed me to help with was setting the assembled top bunk onto the bottom bunk to make 2 seperate beds become one. VERY simple. then quickly built the ladder and attatched. 4. for the slats there are tiny grooves for them to set in which ensures that nothing slides or moves when putting the mattresses on. 5. it is SO sturdy. there is no creaking or movemwnt. im more than confident with how strong this is and positive it will withstand my 2 active boys for as many years as we need it. 6. the product information states that coiled spring mattresses are to be used for this bunk. so i also purchased 2 of the 6" coil spring mattrezses from walmart and they are PERFECT. if you already have 2 regular twin mattresses those will work great!! the gray is a true gray. not slate gray and not the gray that has a blue hint. its beautiful. cons- NONE hat ive noticed in the 2 weeks of us having it. I HOPE this helps someone that is nervous due to the bad reviews which i can only assume were all due to user/builder error or its someone complaining hoping that theyll get something free out of it. this bed is lovely looking, easy to put together, just the right height snd color and in my opinion the price CANT be beat. its worth every penny! now go on and just buy it! 🤗
