This bed is perfect for our 13 year, old man dog! The thick one piece base is very supportive. My Chesapeake Bay Retrieve has arthritis that has deformed one of his front legs. His other bed had multiple layers that would shift and half the time he was partially on the cold floor. For reference, he is 85 pounds. I'm hopeful the bolster will not shift or flatten so he'll be able to support his head if he chooses. Really impressive, well made, supportive bed for him! Thinking about a second one for the other room he spends some time in.

The bed ended up being too small for my dog. I ordered the 35", which shows a golden retriever sprawled out on in the picture, but it definitely does not fit a large dog, as described in the title. However, the quality is great and it came packaged very well! Just order a size bigger if you have a large dog!
