Pen+Gear Pink Block Erasers, 2 Count

I bought these because I want to try carving little stamps out of erasers without spending $25–$30 on an entire linocut kit. The erasers themselves are perfectly nice, but I have to talk about the packaging because WHAT IN THE WORLD. 😂 I expected the usual cheap little cellophane package with an adhesive flap. Instead, these two 49-cent erasers came in a surprisingly substantial, lightweight vinyl pouch with an actual ZIPPER. Not a flimsy plastic sleeve. Not a tear-open wrapper. A RESEALABLE VINYL BAG. Naturally, I tried to tear it open with my hands. Absolutely not. I even stuck my finger through the display peg hole and tried to pull it apart that way. Nope. This thing was not surrendering. I finally had to use scissors on the *clearly marked scissor line* at the top. And then I noticed something else. THERE IS AN ANTI-THEFT SENSOR INSIDE THE PACKAGE. Yes. These are two pink rubber erasers. They cost 49 cents. And apparently Walmart has determined that these two erasers require electronic security. I had to hold the label up to the light before I realized what I was looking at. There it was: the hidden anti-theft sensor, quietly protecting Walmart's most valuable stationery asset. I am genuinely fascinated by the decision-making process behind this packaging. Why does a 49-cent pack of erasers need a resealable vinyl pouch? Who is going to carefully put their erasers back into the zipper bag after using them? Certainly not a third grader. And WHY ARE THEY ELECTRONICALLY SECURED?!  The erasers themselves are good. They have a great texture, they're a nice size, and they're exactly what I bought them for. But the PACKAGING? Five stars for sheer entertainment value. I have officially named them The Fort Knox Erasers. 😂

This is an amazing value. School supplies are subject to increasing prices as everything else. 2 pack of block erasers for 47 cents. Designed for smudge free and clean erasing. Latex-free. Soft, pliable rubber. I'm filling backpacks with school supplies for donations. Don't pass these up.. WORTH NOTING, I was able to fill all 8 (Wonder Nation backpacks $4.97) with all these supplies (Pen Gear brand) ordered online (I think it is less $$$ than buying in-store) for $110.00, that's under $14.00 a piece including the backpacks! I did divide the pencils, pens, glue sticks, highlighters and erasers up between the 8. A lot of items were under $1.00, and some 50 cents or below!! Okay, all the hard work has been done for you, now GET SHOPPING!!!
