This dehumidifier is designed for indoor use like area's that may have higher humidity levels. Yes, it's quiet enough for living rooms, bedrooms, and wet areas with three fan speed settings. I chose this model for my basement due to high humidity levels. When I plugged it in the reading was 72 rh, now it's reading 56rh. Our basement is medium size and is much more comfortable now. If you prefer a lower setting it offers lower rh settings. Turn your basement into a more enjoyable environment today.

A necessity for any new (or old) basement

I bought this a month ago when we moved to our new home specifically for the basement. Since it was newly built, the basement air had about 70% humidity which over time can cause dampness and mildew. In that month, the Waykar has brought down the humidity to the mid 40s. It has had not issues and just keeps humming along. It is convenient that a garden hose can be hooked up to the back of it and the pulled water drain into the sump pump crock.
