Great Value Original Dishwasher Pacs, Fresh Scent, 115 Count

I tried cascade dishwasher pods I have tried finish pods they both left glasses cloudy water spots. I decided to try great value brand and was amazed at how well. they worked. Anyone that uses a dishwasher should give these a try.

I bought this 115 count box of dishwasher pacs because I run my dishwasher just about every day. Big family, lots of dishes, and I was tired of buying the expensive name brand stuff that costs twice as much for half the amount. The Great Value version seemed worth a shot. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is the smell. It's a very strong fresh scent, kind of a lemon laundry detergent type of smell, not a subtle clean scent. My whole kitchen smelled like it for a few minutes after I pulled out a pac. The pacs themselves are individually wrapped in a dissolvable film and they feel mostly dry to the touch, not sticky or crumbly. In the dishwasher, these work fine for everyday loads. I put in a full load of plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware with some dried on pasta sauce and oatmeal residue. Everything came out clean without any scrubbing needed beforehand. The glasses were clear and spot free, the plates didn't have any film, and even the forks with stuck on cheese came out looking good. Here's what surprised me. The fresh scent doesn't rinse away completely. My glasses and plastic containers came out of the dishwasher smelling like the pac. Not a bad smell necessarily, but I could taste it slightly when I drank water from a freshly washed glass. I ran a rinse cycle with just water and that helped a little but didn't totally fix it. If you're sensitive to fragrances, this might bother you. The 115 count box is huge and takes up a lot of cabinet space. The pacs stay fresh in the bag inside the box but I keep it sealed with a rubber band just in case. I'm hoping these pacs don't lose their cleaning power halfway through the box. Some generic dishwasher products seem to work great for the first month then get weird. So far after a couple of weeks, still cleaning fine. Good for anyone who wants clean dishes on a budget. Just be ready for the fragrance to stick around.
