If you are married keeping the wife happy is usually worth the effort. In my case it absolutely is. In her office at home she has a keyboard and a computer neither of which had external speakers so the sound quality was pretty dreadful. That said, for less than 1500 bucks all in I was able to provide her a kick butt desktop system with a DAC/amp (100 wpc) the Ultra Evo's and a mixer so she could play along with music from her computer. Happier than I have seen her in a while. I liked the sound well enough I had to get a pair for me too. :) She couldn't say much since I bought hers first. I call it strategic gifting. LOL

This is the review I have wanted most so far from all my SVS speakers to write. This speaker in sound quality is stunning. I am using them for my surround speakers. They are perfectly balanced with crystal clear highs and yet not fatiguing to listen to for hours on end. If I were truly hard-pressed to put forth something that could be better it would just be having more cabinet finishing choices. Since these are for my home theater and living room, I did not want a shiny finish, but I would have jumped at the chance to get a matt-style walnut, cherry, or similar type finish. They still look quite decent in matt black that I chose, but to me this can be a separating factor for why others might choose to pay a premium for another brand. Sound quality however, you cannot beat these for the price. I fully expect many years of enjoyment from these speakers.
