Garmin Forerunner 570, 47mm, Advanced GPS Running and Triathlon Smartwatch, AMOLED Display, Training and Recovery Features, Slate Gray Aluminum with Translucent Black/Black Band

I have had 2 knees replaced a result from past shrapnel Wounds from Vietnam. I can only swim and walk. Even though they say this is for runners I saw features that would be better than my current Forerunner 745. Those were better brightness, the voice command and the touch screen capabilities with a smart watch features.. I have only had it a couple of weeks and the ONLY feature that is GREAT Iis the screen brightness. I have contacted the Garmin support by phone 3 times because I've had issues with the voice command and the touch screen. They have been SUPER. We get the voice command to come up but knot consistently. When I start my swim, I say “Start swim or start Pool swim and it searches then always goes back to the watch face. So I have to use the button only to bring up activities I touch on poop swim and it goes to setup with pool size etc . I have to push the upper right button again to start. The green arrow appears and the timer starts. Then to stop the swim I have to push the button again (voice command no response) the I say save swim same issue. When I push the button (right top) the screen comes up Save, Resume, etc. I touch on save and again nothing. I try to c scroll and nothing have to use buttons. This could be me and just lack of knowledge because I still c believe that Garmin not only has GREAT products but also for GREAT SUPPORT.This is the reason for disappointment. I have Never had any thing but Garmin. I didn't know if I should return it and move to the 970, but it's difficult being a Vet on fixed income to pay the more cost. I saved for 6 months and waited until the 570 went on sale!!!

I recently switched from the Apple Watch to the Garmin Forerunner 570, and the difference has been impressive—especially for someone focused on running. The biggest upgrade for me is the battery life. With the Apple Watch, daily charging was unavoidable, which got annoying over time. The Forerunner 570, on the other hand, easily lasts 9–10 days on a single charge, which feels like a game changer. Another standout feature is Garmin Coach. It keeps me consistent with my workouts and provides structured guidance for race preparation. It genuinely feels like having a personal coach on your wrist, helping you stay disciplined and improve steadily. The display is also excellent. The AMOLED screen is crystal clear, and brightness is more than sufficient even under direct sunlight, making it easy to glance at stats during runs without any struggle. The only downside I’ve noticed so far is the charging design. I wish it had a more convenient dock-style or pin-based system like the Apple Watch, allowing the watch to rest horizontally while charging. The current setup works, but it’s not as seamless. Overall, I’m very happy with the switch. If battery life and serious training features matter to you, the Forerunner 570 is a fantastic choice.
