I got this set of two great nail brushes for $1.37. I am very happy with this set because the bristles are firm, but not too rigid. I garden all the time. I usually forget to put on my gloves, so I dig in the dirt with bare fingers. The proof is in the fingernails. Dirty! Very dirty. So, I have got to keep on scrubbing. When brushes are too rigid, they tear up the occasional hangnail or damaged cuticles. That can really hurt. This set is just the right amount of firmness to clean but not damage my too often broken and battered nails. The two different sides are subtly different and that difference leads to more effective cleaning. So easy to use! I like plastic nail brushes like this because they are so easy to sanitize. I used to get wooden brushes but since I use the brushes so often, and they stay wet, the wooden brushes eventually turned black. Yech. Especially since I often have small cuts and scrapes from gardening, the ease of sanitizing these brushes is an important feature. I have an autoimmune disease and several years ago I got an infection on my foot. Within two days of my noticing the onset of this infection, my leg had doubled in size. I was told if I had another infection like that in my foot, I would have to get my whole leg amputated. So, ease of sanitation is crucial, in fact, lifesaving. The life expectancy after a disease related major amputation is one and a half years. These brushes play a small but very important role in keeping me heathy and alive. Here is a tip for newbie gardeners. When you scrub your nails don't use soap, use a whitening, mildly abrasive toothpaste! Much more effective, in the kitchen I will scrub my nails with baking soda.
