I use it because, due to a drain I had placed in my tailbone after surgery, sitting for long periods became a major problem. I decided to try this cushion, and it has definitely been a great help. This was a disappointing purchase. Flimsy the foam core is smaller than the cover. I've bought other pads and the foam is very sturdy. This seat is very soft and would offer no support.
