LongBay Men's Adjustable Diabetic Slippers Memory Foam Arthritis Edema Swollen House Shoes

My husband's feet and legs have swelled to the point of exploding. He can barely get his toes to go into 'normal' shoes. He used to wear size 9 1/2. As his feet have swelled, the size has gradually increased. Since these were billed as 'runs true to size', I debated but decided to order the 11's. They are very snug but wearable. I can get them onto his feet with only a little effort. His feet are so swelled that the Velcro closure barely catches so I would like that the closure was made differently, like a strap going across the foot. He's only worn them 2 days so I cannot speak of durability. My husband is older with other medical problems/conditions making him shuffle his feet. I have to make sure he doesn't stumble on carpet because of the non-skid soles which would be good on tile or such. He has not walked on tile yet. Overall, I like these. Just needs a longer strap closure for very swelled feet.

I'm writing this review so that it may help others in my current situation. I am my elderly father's caregiver, ( his age, 74). For quite sometime, I have been searching and searching for some comfortable shoes for my father. He suffers from edema in his legs and feet, due to his heart failure and kidney disease. Before his edema issues, he wore 11.5 wide. I did get him the George's house slippers from Walmart as well, but size 12/13, and his swelling in his feet got worse and those house slippers don't fit anymore. He has a pair Sketchers slip-ons, size 11.5, those don't fit him anymore, either. His condition fluctuates, as he is stubborn and will refuse to go to the hospital and will cancel or reschedule his doctor's appointments. Anyways, I finally got him to go to the E.R. to assist his with his health and his edema situation has improved. He still can't fit into his house slippers or tennis shoes, but after searching and searching for some type of footwear, I found these shoes, and with a very reasonable price, $24.95. I ordered a size 13, color grey, and they fit!! A bit snug in toe box area, but I am glad the whole shoe fits on both of his feet. The velcro makes it easy to close and after walking around, my father said it's very comfy and feels good on his heel. He doesn't walk around much, (sits in his wheel chair a lot, but can walk if needed), but I wanted him to have at least something on his feet when he does leave the house to go to the doctor's, or store.
