I have a costly neck fan with 5 motors and a cold plate. It is not so quiet because the fan outlets are only an inch from my ears. These larger fans are far from my ears so their noise seems low. Their positions let them cool a larger area of my cheeks and neck and generally the whole front of my face. You bend the arms to get the ideal positioning. A great feature is how this product has an easily accessed battery compartment with a 18650 lithium battery rated 1.8 AH. That's a good sized battery and it is not soldered in, you could replace a weakened battery with only a small screwdriver and the ability to do that kind of maintenance is rare in these little USB devices. There is a tiny LED that is blue while running and red while charging. The only weakness in the design that I can see is they tell you to remove the power as soon as it is charged so it could overcharge I guess. The black section of the fan is not flexible at all, that means you have to bend out the fans to get this around your neck, and then reposition them, which is a pretty easy procedure. I also tried this on with the fans at the back of my neck and since I sweat so heavily there I may decide to use this with the fans to the rear. It will stay on the neck OK in that configuration. The only hitch is if you have long hair - I would not recommend the collar if you leave your hair hanging down but it should be fine with it tied back or while wearing a sweat band.
