Although the description text says the top is a square neck tank, it came as pictured. It has a round neck and cap sleeve. The top has a waistband. The fabric weight is a light knit. The band is wide, which I really like. I also like the patch pockets so they stay in place, rather than sticking out untucked. This is a nice short set.
